Big Island Motors has seen an increase in customer calls regarding recent telephone or mail solicitations for vehicle service contracts. Service contracts purport to cover specified issues after the manufacturer’s warranty expires. The contracts vary from provider to provider and often include very broad exceptions.
There has been an influx of third-party vehicle service contract companies soliciting consumers via phone calls and mailers. One company, Motor Vehicle Services, recently began a mail campaign in Hawaii that includes mailings to Big Island Motors customers. The Better Business Bureau has issued a consumer alert about these companies and their tactics. These companies are not associated with, or endorsed by Big Island Motors in any way.
For more information, please read the Better Business Bureau article here. Please note that Big Island Motors does not share any customer information with any third parties for the purpose of selling vehicle service contracts.
Any information related to your vehicle service contract will come directly from Big Island Motors, not through a third party. If you are unsure about the solicitation, please call us directly to confirm. Please note that while Big Island Motors does provide vehicle service contracts that cover your vehicle past the manufacturer warranty period, we will not solicit the sale of these contracts via mail or by phone.
